2021 Bronx Primary Debate Series BronxTalk with Host Gary Axelbank
City Council is not an entry level job!
Endorsements do not = most qualified or best candidate - a proven track record that brings transformative results; coupled with lived experience does.

Restorative Justice Initiative in short, are working to develop a city-wide, principled Restorative Justice practice that is actively rooted in anti-racism, honoring indigeneity, and building alternatives to the carceral state. Their work is cross-sectoral and aims to meet folks where they are at in their restorative journeys, whether that be in a healing process themselves, interested in learning, or looking to grow in community.
With this event, Neighborhood Healing, we are going to think about how Restorative Justice, and more loosely, collective healing, can take place starting on a neighborhood level, and what that may mean for both community and politics on a larger scale.
The Restorative Justice Initiative invited a small group of folks running for City Council to essentially think and dream together as to what a district or a neighborhood may look like, feel like, and be like, that is actively taking care of one another.
